Gym Cancellation Guides

How to Cancel Your Gym Membership, Brand by Brand

Every chain makes cancelling harder than joining. Some only accept letters to your home club, some require their own form, most need 30 days notice, and nearly all of them keep billing when a request gets lost. Pick your gym below for the exact rules, or go straight to the cancellation letter that works for any gym.

The three rules of cancelling any gym

  1. Follow the contract, not the front desk. Your membership agreement lists the accepted cancellation methods and notice period. Verbal promises from staff do not change it.
  2. Put it in writing, sent certified. A letter delivered by USPS Certified Mail with return receipt is accepted by effectively every gym and creates the delivery proof that phone calls and app requests never do.
  3. Expect one more charge, dispute the rest. Notice periods usually mean one final billing. Charges after that get disputed with your bank, with the return receipt attached.

Policies vary by location and change over time. kweldoc is a document drafting tool, not a law firm, and is not affiliated with any gym listed here.
